Trick on Taking a Fire Cracker Picture

Easy trick, adjust the camera:

1.    Use Tripod ( the cheap one is ok ) or anything to prevent of camera for not shaking, it can be put on the wall than supported by stone, or at the fence, mail box, even garbage box.

2.    Since my camera is ordinary one without manual setting, so I just can set to night scene mode.

3.    Turn off the flash since it is useless and waste the battery.

4.    Snap softly and full of feeling without causing shake on it, don’t panic or tremble but you may also use self timer, I just can’t stand using it because I am afraid of losing the fire cracker moment.

5.    Snap as many as possible till your memory card full, you just can choose the good ones by deleting the bad ones.

Sophisticated tricks if your camera can be manual set (like DLSR):

1.    Set manual focus to ‘infinity’, usually in the darkness it will be hard to find the focus, so it is better to set maximum focus. And it is better to take from far distance since if it is too near the corner to take it is not good ( too turn upper )

2.    Set manual shutter speed usually takes (3-10 second) if you can choose B / bulb you can do for experiment.

3.    Set ISO as low as possible to avoid the noise. For several cameras (like Cannon) at night scene mode chooses the high ISO to get the better light but the noise is high too.

4.    Use the remote release to avoid the shaking. If there is anti shake feature please activate it and noise reduction.

The most essential thing in taking a nature landscape (night scene) is the matter of shaking from the pushing of shutter knob, than while it opens for some second, till it closes again. With many exercises I am sure you will improve your capability. Try to take a picture of night scene, you will wonder yourself. As the addition I added the Shan hay Bund at night where I put my camera at the wall border.
