Tips to Prevent Under Exposure for Pocket Digital Camera
Photography Tips to Prevent Under Exposure . In order to prevent the under exposure problem, all you must to is trying to shoot in before distance/ under the max flash coverage.
There are several things that must attention:
1. Using the higher ISO for low light condition and moving object such as shoot the sport event, action. In order to give light enough for an object thus frozen their movement also
The disadvantages with using the higher ISO, especially in this small sensor camera, is noise increasing ( in analog camera, film, grainy). It causes by the increasing of sensor sensitivity into light with increasing their giant amplifier sensor. But this level noise,( generally, the Digicam consumer has max ISO 400) it can be print for small size(3-4R), if you have†allergy†with noise/grainy, prevent ISO 400, you can be using the ISO 200.
2. Using low speed flash (slow synch flash) in order to object and background light well enough.
This options is useful for night shoot/scene, when the background darks, it will light enough, all you must remember is even you are using Blitz, because it has low speed, try to kept camera and the photo subject keep steady ( suggests using the tripod or the other alternatives). The other advantages, when the speed is lowest, it means that the original light color that records is being more natural such as the neon lamp color that more warm.
3. Using the advantages point from EV (exposure compensation)Â for lights your photo results.
The advantages of this ways is the lightness increases is not accompanied with noise increases, it causes the work ways of this option is with decreasing the speed up to safety limits when speed still high enough for handheld. If it not enough yet, so the aperture can be zoom. Depends on that work way, we should calculate the consequences also such as:
If the aperture is being large, so the DoF will shorten. However, this thing is rarely happens because a digital pocket camera has large DoF, except for macro photo.
When we add these lightness, therefore, prevent the usage for close up photo (1m or less), it aims is prevent over exposure. Because it more useful for photo that close the max flash coverage and it purpose for prevent the under exposure.
How bigger the (+) EV (exposure value) points? In depends on how much the photo lightness that we want, the lightness condition in shooting area and it must suit with ISO setting that we use, in order to get better result, you can do some exercise first for determine the point.
Generally, the points of +2/3 – 1 (+0,7 – 1,0) from ISO 100-200 is enough. In special condition that needs higher light, it is probably enough in ISO 400 (for example, the photo of group that being forces using the max flash coverage). For auto ISO setting, attention the ISO ranges, generally, it has range between 100-200, 100-400, 50-150, it depends on brand or type of camera ( even the general cameras likely choose the lowest ISO).
